In a fire at textile unit situated at Bhilwara, around 50 tonnes yarn and one lakh metre fabric got burnt.
It took several hours for fire tenders to douse the fire, which was caused most probably by short circuit.
The sad incident took place at S B Feb, situated in RIICO area.
Fire tenders were also arranged from other textile units like Nititn Spinnners and Sangam Spinners.
Ajay Jain, owner of the the company, told that the wall of the factory was also broken to control the fire. He also added that the overall loss is around lakh of rupees; however, no casualty was reported.
Bhilwara (Rajastan) is one of the leading textile hubs, but as its focus is majorly towards domestic market, the hub needs to improve on compliance and safety. Time and again such fire incidents have been taking place in the city’s textile units.
