At the PM MITRA Park Investors’ Meet in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke with investors and gave 80 investors a total incentive of US $ 25.41 million (Rs. 218 crore). At the meeting, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for PM MITRA Park totalling US $ 81.61 million (Rs. 700 crore) were also signed.
With a population of 25 crore, Uttar Pradesh is India’s largest consumer market, Adityanath told the investors. Many people from Nepal, Bhutan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand, he continued, also depend on Uttar Pradesh for their necessities.
The purpose of the investors’ meeting was to build a Mega Textile and Apparel Park on 1,000 acres near the Lucknow-Hardoi border as part of the Government of India’s “PM MITRA Scheme.”
According to the Government, 83 MoUs have already received investment bids totalling US $ 443 million (Rs. 3800 crore), in addition to the two MoUs for US $ 81.61 million (Rs. 700 crore) that were inked for the PM MITRA Park.
With 225 projects scheduled for groundbreaking soon and more than 1,000 Memorandums of Understanding signed, the chief minister stated that over 50,000 jobs will be created and over US $ 700 million (Rs. 6,000 crore) in investments would result.
He noted that this is the only PM MITRA Park in the country located in a state capital. He gave investors his word that integrated facilities for weaving, dyeing, printing, designing, and packaging would be available at the park.
