The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is set to establish a new Technology Centre at Khizarsarai in Gaya district.
Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary are scheduled to jointly lay the foundation stone for the project.
The Technology Centre will be developed with an investment of Rs. 170 crore (US $17.96 million), comprising Rs. 86 crore (US $9.09 million) for civil infrastructure and Rs. 84 crore (US $8.87 million) for advanced machinery and equipment. The facility will be built on a 20-acre site provided by the Bihar Government and will include production, training, utility and administrative blocks, along with a multipurpose hall, hostel and staff accommodation.
The Centre will cater to key sectors including general engineering, heavy engineering and textile testing. It is expected to support MSMEs across Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Munger districts by providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies, skilled manpower and technical support services.
The facility will offer a range of services, including tool room operations, CNC machining, CAD/CAM/CAE design support, rapid prototyping, Industry 4.0 laboratories and renewable energy solutions. It will also provide industry-focused training programmes in areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), automation, data analytics, VLSI, quality control and textile technologies.
In addition, MSMEs will have access to business advisory services covering market research, product development, regulatory compliance, digital marketing, branding, automation and incubation support.
The Technology Centre is expected to train approximately 7,000 candidates annually and provide tooling and job-work support services to more than 1,000 MSMEs each year.
