Agilitas Sports has secured Rs. 225 crore (US $23.51 million) in fresh funding from existing investor Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter as the sportswear platform accelerates its expansion across manufacturing, brand development and offline retail.
The funding round comprises a Rs. 200 crore (US $20.89 million) follow-on investment from Nexus Venture Partners and Rs. 25 crore (US $2.61 million) from Rainmatter. Actor and entrepreneur Anushka Sharma also participated in the round. The company did not disclose its valuation.
Founded by former Puma India Managing Director Abhishek Ganguly, Agilitas plans to deploy the capital towards product research and development, design, manufacturing capacity, retail expansion, technology, talent acquisition and brand building.
Ganguly stated that the company was not dependent on continuous capital infusion to sustain operations but required investment to support its retail ambitions through capital expenditure, working capital and inventory requirements.
The latest fundraise comes as Agilitas seeks to establish itself as a full-stack sportswear company rather than a single-brand business. Since its inception, the company has acquired footwear manufacturer Mochiko Shoes, launched Italian sportswear brand Lotto in India, added the Virat Kohli-backed One8 brand to its portfolio and expanded into offline retail through its Sportsyard format.
According to Ganguly, the company is building an integrated ecosystem spanning manufacturing, brands and retail. He noted that the acquisition of Mochiko Shoes in 2023 provided Agilitas with a strong manufacturing base for sports footwear, an area where India still lacks the depth seen in apparel manufacturing.
He added that while India has largely addressed apparel manufacturing capabilities, sports footwear manufacturing remains an opportunity that Agilitas is focused on developing.
Agilitas launched Lotto in India in July 2025 and is set to unveil One8, co-founded with Virat Kohli, on 21st June. Ganguly said Kohli’s involvement extends beyond brand endorsement, with the cricketer actively participating in product design, development and testing.
The company is also scaling Sportsyard, its large-format multi-brand retail concept that houses brands including Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Asics, Puma and Skechers. Ganguly said the first Sportsyard outlet in Bengaluru achieved profitability within two months of launch, and the company plans to open 10 additional stores during the current financial year.
He explained that the format was designed to address the high fixed costs associated with exclusive brand outlets as well as the discounting pressures prevalent in e-commerce. Ganguly added that e-commerce is expected to contribute around 25%-30% of Agilitas’ overall business through both marketplaces and direct-to-consumer channels.
He further noted that while brands would continue to require exclusive stores to deliver a complete consumer experience, large-scale expansion of standalone outlets often results in unsustainable fixed costs. He added that while Agilitas competes in the brand segment, it collaborates with industry players through its manufacturing and multi-brand retail operations.
