Amazon.in has reported that Gujarat has become one of the fastest-growing states for its Amazon Bazaar platform, recording a 30-fold year-on-year increase in orders ahead of the festive season. The state also registered a fivefold rise in new customer sign-ups from major cities such as Surat, Ahmedabad and Vadodara, as well as towns including Amreli, Bhuj, Navsari, Junagadh and Jamnagar.
According to the company, Gujarat has emerged as a key growth region for Amazon Bazaar, with rising demand for affordable products. Sellers in the state expanded their catalogue fourfold over the past year, contributing to a nearly sixfold increase in the overall selection across categories including textiles, festive fashion and jewellery.
Fashion categories in Surat have shown particularly strong momentum, with demand for kurtis rising 25 times year-on-year, men’s shirts up 12 times and sarees growing 10 times. Younger shoppers are driving demand for ready-to-wear sarees, co-ord sets and fusion attire such as Shararas and Anarkalis. Shoppers in the state are also purchasing products from across India, including kurtis from Chandigarh and home furnishings from Jaipur.
Amazon said Gujarat is home to over 230,000 sellers who use its tools and logistics network to reach customers nationwide and abroad. To support sellers and buyers in the state, the company operates two fulfilment centres, more than 850 “I Have Space” partner stores and over 100 delivery stations.
