
Argentina headquartered La Martina, a polo lifestyle company famed for its apparel, accessories and technical equipment, is planning to start its own e-commerce operations in India soon.
Apart from technical polo gear, the brand’s offerings include a wide assortment of general fashion products for men, women and children such as apparel and accessories like leather bags, wallets and belts along with perfumes, eyewear and scarves.
An affordable luxury brand, La Martina already has two exclusive brand stores (EBO) in the country. Sensing the massive scope of online, the brand now feels that having its own local e-platform will enable pan-India access.
Significantly, the brand forayed into India in July 2014 and launched its first 1,800 sq. ft. flagship store at Delhi’s luxury mall DLF Emporio and later expanded to Hyderabad as well.
Markedly, both stores are operated by Luxus Retail, the Indian franchisee for La Martina. As regards the brand’s further expansion, Eliana Koulas, Director/Partner, Luxus Retail & Director of La Martina, India said, “This year, there has been a slowdown in store expansions in the luxury category. Hence, as and when the luxury environment grows, we plan to pace up our expansion in Tier I cities.”
Founded by Lando Simonetti in Buenos Aires in 1985, La Martina is reckoned as Argentina’s sole luxury brand to date.
Having excelled in the development and manufacturing of professional technical polo equipment, the brand eventually broadened its horizons by adding stylish, casual apparel design and manufacturing to its portfolio.
Today, La Martina operates in both segments and marks a worldwide presence through exclusive stores in more than 20 countries, spanning the United States, Europe, Russia, Dubai et al.
