Baazar Style Retail reported a sharp decline in profitability for the third quarter of FY ’26, even as revenue posted double-digit growth year-on-year.
The company’s consolidated net profit fell 37.65% to Rs. 18.96 crore (US $ 2.09 million) in Q3 FY ’26, compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Revenue from operations rose 13.33% year-on-year to Rs. 466.47 crore (US $ 51.43 million).
Profit before exceptional items and tax declined 34.02% to Rs. 26.90 crore (US $ 2.96 million) in Q3 FY ’26, down from Rs. 40.77 crore (US $ 4.49 million) in Q3 FY ’25. During the quarter, the company reported an exceptional loss of Rs. 1.33 crore (US $ 146,000), which was attributed to labour code compliance-related expenses.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 7% year-on-year to Rs. 89.4 crore (US $ 9.85 million), compared with Rs. 83.3 crore (US $ 9.18 million) in the same quarter last year. However, EBITDA margin contracted to 19.2% from 20.2% in Q3 FY ’25, reflecting pressure on operating profitability.
Operational metrics showed a mixed performance. Average transaction value declined 3.78% year-on-year to Rs. 992 (US $ 10.94), compared with Rs. 1,031 (US $ 11.37) in Q3 FY ’25. Sales per square foot fell 15.25% year-on-year to Rs. 700 (US $ 7.72) per month during the quarter.
As of 31 December 2025, Baazar Style Retail operated 252 stores, representing a 27% year-on-year increase. The total retail area expanded by 31% year-on-year to 2.35 million square feet.
Separately, the company’s board approved the appointment of Rohit Kedia as chairman following the resignation of Pradeep Kumar Agarwal. Agarwal will step down as chairman with effect from the close of business on 6th February 2026 and will continue to be associated with the company as a whole-time director.
