The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market marks the debut of The Bear House, a modern men’s clothing and accessory company that specialises in smart casuals.
The most recent move aims for a large physical retail and omnichannel presence in the region and is hailed as the springboard for the brand’s deeper international growth. The Middle East is a perfect fit for The Bear House’s smart casual posture because of its robust e-commerce infrastructure and great demand for high-end menswear.
Local GCC platforms including Noon, Namshi, and Amazon now carry the Bear House line. Because of their well-established credibility, heavy traffic, and regional logistical maturity, these platforms were carefully selected to provide The Bear House with the quickest means of reaching a relevant, style-forward audience.
“This is the first major step towards becoming a global Indian brand,” said Harsh Somaiya, co-founder of The Bear House, speaking on the launch. For the GCC customer, who presently has only two options: value brands and high-end luxury brands, The Bear House bridges the ‘affordable luxury’ divide, he adds. As the GCC’s centre for fashion and e-commerce, the UAE provides a brand like The Bear House with developed infrastructure, a ready-made customer base, and market accessibility, making it a perfect starting point for new ventures into the Middle East and a logical extension of existing operations in India, he said in conclusion.
Over the past few years, The Bear House has been expanding rapidly in India, moving from an online-only presence to a successful physical retail foray with outlets in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
