
Forever 21, the global fashion brand from Los Angeles (US), has decided to close down its outlet located on iconic Robson Street in Vancouver on January 15, 2018.The two-level, 29,000-square-foot space was opened six years ago but the company has told staff it is closing the outlet there due to the decline in traffic.
In Vancouver, the fashion retailer operates at locations such as Metro Vancouver, including Park Royal, Richmond Centreand Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.
The retailer reported a disappointing performance in Europe and the UK regions as well. It has decided to minimise the size of its stores in the UK, where there’re only three stores operational.
Amsterdam and Dublin also witnessed the closure of Forever 21 stores in the recent past. The fashion brand has been struggling in Europe since 2016.However, the label will continue tooperate multiple stores across Europe, where customers will continue to have an access to the fast-fashion ranges they love and expect from Forever 21.
It’s not only the European part of the world, Forever 21 has also shuttered its stores in the North American market due to poor sales.
The fashion retailer is spreading its presence in other emerging markets like India. It framed association with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. in 2016 for its India distribution rights.The fashion brand has added new stores to the India market over the months. Mumbai, Chennai, Siliguri, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, and Indore are the major cities in the country to have a Forever 21 store.
