Indian apparel brand Proline has inked an agreement with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) for the co-branding of a range of sports apparel made up of R|Elan’ fabrics.
Post the signing of the deal, the ‘PROLINE’ products is now authorised to use RIL’s ‘R|Elan Kooltex’ or ‘R|Elan FreeFlow’ fabrics. Garments manufactured using these special fabrics make it odour-free and quick-dry, thus gives Indian customers a unique opportunity to beat the tropical Indian climate.
RIL-Proline deal would help the latter to further get a strong foothold in the Indian sports apparel industry valued at Rs. 2,500 crores which is 10 per cent of Rs. 250,000-crore Indian apparel industry.
“Our intention behind this deal is to provide comfortable, durable, quality products to the Indian sports loving youth,” reportedly said Gunjan Sharma, CMO – Polyester Business, RIL.
In addition to Proline, more than 25 textile players are already using R|Elan technologies for the production of new-age fabrics.
Polyester brand – RElan was rolled out by the Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) across six major textile hubs Bengaluru, Delhi, Surat, Coimbatore, Ludhiana and Mumbai in October last year.
With the launch of RElan, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries is aimed to increase its presence in the polyester space. It is currently the largest manufacturer of polyester in the country with the annual capacity of 2 million tonnes, almost half the country’s overall 4.5 million tonnes production.
