Kitex Garments, a leading Indian manufacturer and exporter of knitted garments, has announced the launch of its US infant and kid clothing brand, “Little Star,” in the Indian market. This action marks Kitex’s entry into the rapidly expanding domestic children’s clothing market in India. The Little Star collection will feature apparel for newborns, infants and young children.
With a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3% for infant wear and 2.6% for children’s wear, India’s infant and children’s wear industry is expected to surpass the more established and slower-growing US segment and reach around Rs. 1,46,763 crore (US $ 16.71 billion) by 2030.
In recognition of the critical role that digital channels play in India’s quickly changing retail scene, Kitex will launch Little Star on a number of prominent online platforms. A wider market reach, quicker brand recognition and greater demand-capturing agility are all made possible by this online-first strategy.
Using both digital and offline growth engines, the staggered roll-out begins with key cities through leading e-commerce and then moves on to retail platforms.
Sabu M Jacob, Managing Director of Kitex Garments Ltd, stated that Indian families are increasingly seeking high-quality, safe, and stylish clothing for their children. With the launch of the Little Star brand, the company aims to meet this demand by delivering products that adhere to American standards, tailored for the Indian market, and offered at an accessible price point. Kitex Garments is targeting an annual revenue milestone of Rs. 1,000 crore (US $ 113 million) for Little Star within the next two to three years.
