British fashion retailer NEXT has marked its retail debut with the opening of its first store in Mumbai as it expands its retail footprint in India in partnership with Myntra Jabong India Pvt Ltd (MJIPL) and licensed franchise partners.
The 12,000-plus sq ft store offers around 1,000 styles across women’s, men’s and kids’ wear, including dresses, shirts, T-shirts, trousers, denims, shorts and co-ord sets. The company also plans to offer select styles exclusively at the Mumbai store.
NEXT entered India in 2023 and has since expanded to Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. MJIPL holds the licensed rights to distribute NEXT products in India through a franchise model, while also supporting the brand’s omnichannel expansion.
Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omni-channel at Myntra, said Mumbai’s importance as a fashion market makes the city a key addition to NEXT’s India expansion. He added that the brand’s rollout with MJIPL and its franchise partners is aimed at making NEXT’s British fashion offering more accessible to Indian consumers through an integrated retail experience.
NEXT entered the Indian market in 2023 and has since expanded its presence across several major cities. The Mumbai launch further adds to its growing offline footprint in the country.
Established in 1982, NEXT is a British retailer offering apparel, footwear and home products. The company has more than 460 stores in the UK and 265 international franchise outlets, while its online business serves customers across 80 countries.
