Paytm Mall, a subsidiary of e-commerce platform and payments solution giant Paytm, is shifting the base of its headquarters from Noida to Bengaluru.
Foraying head on into the Offline to Online (O2O) model of business, the indigenous firm’s decision comes as they look to tap into the talent pool of Bengaluru’s tech and start-up ecosystem.
Paytm has confirmed that it will hire additional 300 employees to fulfill upcoming technology and product roles.
All current employees have agreed to either shift to Bengaluru or continue serving their roles and positions from their current locations.
Additionally, Paytm Mall is overhauling executive roles with the appointment of Abhishek Rajan as the new Chief Operating Officer and shifting Srinivas Mothey from the role of senior VP at Paytm Mall and e-commerce operations to senior VP of merchants solutions.
In his new role, Abhishek will be responsible for setting goals to the Paytm Mall and oversee the operations across categories such as technology, product, supply chain, finance and marketing along with expanding merchant base and enhancing customer experience across the platform.
On the other hand, Srinivas Mothey will work on innovative retail solutions for merchants in his new role.
“We would like to think of the e-commerce business as a Series A start-up with US $ 200 million in the bank, where key technology and operation components required for running a commerce business have already been built,” said Abhishek.
