Pepe Jeans India has named Rakesh Jallipally as CEO, after his short stint as Flipkart’s Vice President from July 2024. His elevation was after the exit of earlier CEO Manish Kapoor, who left in March 2025 to head Marks & Spencer India.
Jallipally comes with a mix of experience from conventional retailing and e-commerce, which makes him well-suited to lead the denim and lifestyle brand into its next stage of growth.
He said in a statement that he is pleased to be joining Pepe Jeans India, a brand that has strong affinity with Indian customers. He looks forward to collaborating with the team to reinforce their brand presence, increase market access, and create more meaningful interactions with their customers.
Born in Hyderabad, Jallipally has a degree in Electronics and Communications from Osmania University and postgraduate management training from IIM Lucknow in 2007. He started his career with Raymond, handling retail operations and distribution for southern India, and later took charge of Raymond Suits in five states.
He became a part of Arvind Fashions in 2018 as Vice President, managing brands such as USPA, Flying Machine, and Ed Hardy. He was promoted to COO and later on to CEO by 2021. In 2024, he moved to Flipkart, where he was driving fashion e-commerce business with a concentration on omnichannel retailing strategies and digital merchandising.
At Pepe Jeans India, Jallipally will head a brand that enjoys robust global recognition and considerable presence in the Indian market, with responsibility for steering growth and operational intensity in a competitive fashion environment.
