Within six months of its relaunch, the fast fashion retailer SHEIN India’s new app has surpassed 2 million downloads and now boasts over 20,000 live alternatives, according to Reliance Retails’ latest earnings report.
Additionally, Reliance Retail had a significant increase in daily orders from its Quick-commerce platform, growing by 68% on a Q-o-Q basis and 175% on a Y-o-Y basis. According to Reliance Industries, its activities have expanded to 4,290 pin codes served by 2,200+ outlets across 1,000+ cities.
Reliance reported that its SHEIN app, which launched in February of this year, has maintained a high level of popularity, surpassing 2 million app downloads and offering more than 20,000 live alternatives.
Products made, promoted, and sold solely by Nextgen Fast Fashion, a completely owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd., are featured on the SHEIN India app.
Nearly five years after its ban, SHEIN has returned to the Indian market through Reliance Retail, the nation’s top retailer. Following the increase of tensions with China, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology banned it as one of the apps in June 2020.
Reliance Retail will always own and operate the new SHEIN Platform, which is being developed and hosted in India, according to RIL.
