
Retail chain Shoppers Stop reported a narrowing of its consolidated net loss to Rs. 20.11 crore (US $ 2.28 million) for the September quarter of FY ’26, compared to Rs. 20.59 crore (US $ 2.33 million) in the corresponding period last year, according to a regulatory filing.
The company’s revenue from operations rose 12.71% year-on-year to Rs. 1,256.62 crore (US $ 142 million), up from Rs. 1,114.87 crore (US $ 126 million) in the same quarter last year. Total expenses increased 12.3% to Rs. 1,292.98 crore (US $ 146 million), while total income, including other income, rose 12.6% to Rs. 1,266.12 crore (US $ 143 million). For the first half of FY ’26, Shoppers Stop reported total income of Rs. 2,437.28 crore (US $ 276 million), marking a 10.9% increase over the previous year.
Kavindra Mishra, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shoppers Stop, said the company’s core business had delivered strong growth through several strategic initiatives. He noted that premiumisation, the creation of proprietary brands, enhanced engagement with First Citizen loyalty customers, and increased enrolment of premium Black Card members had all contributed to a 7% rise in sales per bill. He added that customer entry growth rose 6% on a like-for-like basis, registering positive movement for the first time in several years.
Mishra further stated that EBITDA grew by 42%, and profit before tax turned positive, improving from a loss in FY ’25 to a profit of Rs. 9 crore (US $ 1.02 million) in Q2 FY ’26. He highlighted that the company’s new ventures—INTUNE and ss.beauty.in—had performed well despite market headwinds, recording sales growth of 75%, with marked improvement in business performance during the last quarter, particularly in September 2025.
Shoppers Stop currently operates 111 department stores, along with 10 premium home concept stores, 84 speciality beauty stores housing brands such as M.A.C, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Jo Malone, NARS, Armani, Prada, and SS Beauty, as well as 78 INTUNE stores and 20 airport outlets, spanning 4.5 million square feet across India.
