
Textiles major Welspun has resumed its operations partially after receiving necessary permissions from district authorities. The firm has started operations at its manufacturing facilities in Vapi and Anjar in Gujarat.
Welspun had decided to temporarily close its manufacturing units on 24 March till further notice following announcement of nationwide lockdown to curb spread of coronavirus pandemic.
“In continuation of our earlier disclosure dated 24 March 2020, we hereby inform that we have received permissions from administrative authorities of Valsad District and Kutch District in the state of Gujarat to start operations with effect from 21 April 2020 and the company has resumed partial operations,”the company said in a regulatory filing.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, under the revised guidelines for the extended lockdown till 3 May, had allowed industrial units in rural areas or outside municipal limits to resume operations partially after 20 April, under strict hygiene and safety conditions.
However, the textile firm is currently trading at Rs. 28.30 down by Rs. 1.25 or 4.23 per cent from its previous closing of Rs. 29.55 on the BSE.
