Brandix, a leading apparel manufacturer that has almost 22,000 workers in its facilities at Vizag, is expanding. The company is in the process to double its capacity and create job opportunities for 22,000 people.
The proposal for expansion was discussed in the meeting that Ashroff Omar, CEO and officials of the company recently had with M. Goutham Reddy, Minister for Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The existing facility of the company is export oriented.
But as per the reports, the upcoming unit will cater to domestic market. The Minister assured team Brandix that the State Government will facilitate the speedy clearance of all the licenses and permissions.
“The company needs at least 50 acres of land for establishing the new manufacturing unit. It is willing to hire more than 98 per cent of local employees. The women would get more employment than the men in manufacturing. With a view to tap the local market demand, we aimed at the expansion,” said Ashroff.
It is also pertinent to mention here that the State Government’s recent Act, mandated the industries to provide 75 per cent employment to locals.
More details are awaited from the company in this regard. Keep following the same space for update.
