
Tirupur-based BS Apparels is expanding its capacity by adding 250 sewing machines and is expecting 50 per cent growth this year. Exporting 100 per cent produce into the US market, the company is also working to add new buyers. In conversation with Apparel Online, B. Vijayaragavan, MD and promoter of the company, besides being a dynamic textile technocrat informed, “Our USP is the fabric which we use, as we are strongly into organic garments, using bamboo blended with organic cotton. This bamboo fibre is being imported from China. It gives the same strength and high performance as traditional polyester. Similarly, we are manufacturing Marino wool too.”
The company having active wear and lingerie in its products profile is BSCI certified and currently has a capacity of more than 1,20,000 pieces per month.
The company also has advantage of in-house knitting and printing and is using advance machinery for both. Currently, doing annual turnover of Rs. 32 crore, the company has seen good growth in recent years.
The FOB of the company’s products starts from US $ 5 and goes up to US $ 25 and it works mostly with good brands. The company has almost double women workers in its sewing floor compared to men.
