Outdoor apparel specialist W.L. Gore Company after revolutionizing the outdoor industry by discovering the possibility of manipulating PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) into a flexible, waterproof membrane and later on by laminating that membrane to synthetic textiles to create the durable waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX technology, has now come up with new products in the category of insulated performance outerwear. The announcement of introducing these new products was made at a recent press launch of Gore’s new branding framework for Autumn/Winter 2016.

Under this new category, the company has launched three new textile brands – GORE THERMIUM with protected insulation, GORE WINDSTOPPER with insulation protection, and GORE WINDSTOPPER with light rain resistance. These three categories will cater to the needs of the active consumers who want their outerwear garments to meet the accurately predicted weather conditions these days.
New lighter and softer membranes developed by Gore to enable maximum breathability and exceptional versatility, keeping insulation dry from perspiration generated during aerobic activity will be used for these new textile brands.
A batting-type insulation has been sandwiched between a two-layer laminate and liner in the seam-taped GORE THERMIUM, while GORE WINDSTOPPER with insulation protection will serve the purpose of baffled or stitched-through down or synthetic insulation. On the other hand, the GORE WINDSTOPPER with light rain resistance uses a three-layer laminate and fits snuggly in the space between GORE-TEX highly weather-protective garments, and light weight, non-waterproof WINDSTOPPER soft shells.
