With change of management team at Gokaldas Exports Limited earlier this year Gautam Chakravarti, Director was appointed as CEO of the company and Richard B. Saldanha appointed as an Additional Director on the Board of the company effective April 1, 2011, took over as Chairman of Gokaldas Exports. The company’s promoters, Managing Director Rajendra J Hinduja and Executive Director Dinesh J Hinduja, who officially retired from the Board of the company in pursuant to an earlier agreement between Blackstone Group and the promoters of the company, continue their association with the company as mentors to help the management achieve the long-term objective of the organization. As of today, the promoter family holds around 20 per cent share in GE, and counts Nike, Adidas, Levis, Esprit among its major customers. The company employs around 45,000 people across its 40 manufacturing units and has a capacity to churn out a little more than 25 million units per annum.
The second generation of the Hinduja family, however remain a part of the management team with Ashwin holding the position of COO ( Production), and Vivek and Gaurav holding the position of COO (Marketing). In the meanwhile, the senior Hindujas have entered into the real estate business based in Bangalore.
