
Moving towards more organized and compliant factories is something of a must for survival in today’s environment, so more and more medium level factories/ companies are moving towards compliance. New name in the list is Vishesh Apparels of Noida. This 13 years old company, offering mainly women’s wear, is in the process to adopt BSCI certification and also planning to get Sedex certificate at a later stage. “Very recently we have completed an internal audit by Bureau Veritas for one of our US-based buyer Redcats and are expecting to get our first compliance certificate very soon,” said an excited Rakesh Kapoor, MD of the organization. He further added, “As the scenario of global apparel business is changing there is a kind of pressure to be a compliant unit and as there are involvements from many Government departments to be fully compliant, their support is must.”
The company is producing highvalue women’s wear and its FOB remains between US $ 6 to 50. Having achieved 100 per cent growth last year, it is expecting the same this year also. With a total capacity of 20,000 pieces per month, Vishesh Apparels has also started kidswear for the domestic market which is 20 per cent of its total business today.
