Known for its batik printing, Delhi-based Batik India is gearing up to become even more organized; it is in the process of acquiring the ISO 2008 certification, which will bring further recognition to it as a serious player. What’s commendable is that this initiative is not being driven by the company’s buyers’ concerns or pressure, but has been motivated with the aim of getting more orders and that too from bigger buyers. “For more than two decades, we have been working with good buyers in the USA, Dubai, London, etc., and now we want to work with bigger buyers also, so compliance is important for us, and getting the certification will definitely work in our favour,” said Sukesh Kumar, Proprietor of the company.
Batik India has in-house processes for garmenting and for hand prints. It offers blouses, skirts, etc. with FOB of US $ 4 to 10.
