Textile recycling specialist Circulose has announced a strategic partnership with Jilin Chemical Fiber to exclusively market and sell viscose filament yarn made with CIRCULOSE between 2026 and 2028, aiming to accelerate large-scale adoption of next-generation textile fibres.
Jilin’s viscose filament yarn, branded JIRECELL, is produced using a blend of 30% CIRCULOSE and 70% certified wood pulp, with plans to increase recycled content to 50%. Following years of collaboration and market testing, the two companies are now preparing to scale up production to meet international demand for sustainable viscose filament yarn.
Circulose chief executive Jonatan Janmark said the partnership marked a crucial step in the company’s mission to drive fashion’s transition to circularity, highlighting JIRECELL’s technical excellence and market readiness. He added that Jilin’s leadership and global reach would help secure the necessary production volumes for large-scale rollout.
Jilin has committed to purchasing rising volumes of CIRCULOSE pulp annually, pledging to blend unused pulp across its wider fibre portfolio. The company said this move aligned with its work with non-profit organisation Canopy to phase out reliance on Ancient and Endangered Forest inputs and expand the use of recycled cellulose.
Jilin’s general manager, Jin Dong-Jie, said the company had full confidence in CIRCULOSE’s performance and market potential, adding that the commitment set a global benchmark for textile circularity and would help establish recycled fibres as the industry norm.
The partnership marks a milestone in Circulose’s efforts to restart large-scale production, combining its recycling technology with Jilin’s expertise in viscose innovation to scale the adoption of circular and renewable textiles worldwide.
