The Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (Co-optex) has inked deal with the organisers of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival, under the Department of Tourism, to market organic saris in Kerala which are made with 100 per cent chemical- and pesticide-free cotton. Moreover, natural dyes obtained from flowers, fruits, leaves and seeds are used for dyeing organic cotton.
The step taken is assumed to increase the sales of Co-optex, which recently touched Rs. 10 lakh mark post its tie-up with Snapdeal and Flipkart, to sell its products.
