
A higher education establishment in Tirupur has been enlisted by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Training Corporation (TNSDC) to provide jobless youngsters with training in skills necessary for employment in the ready-to-wear manufacturing and export industries.
In partnership with the NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, the TNSDC will provide free training to young people living in rural and urban areas. According to a press release from NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, the Tirupur Exporters’ Association launched the NIFT-TEA Vocational Training College with the goal of producing skilled workers for all industry segments by putting in place various programmes for skill development.
Youth between the ages of 18 and 35 who have completed at least a Plus Two education can receive skill training in clothing design and manufacture through the TNSDC programme.
One hundred and sixty young people will be trained to become assistant fashion designers. They will receive free housing, meals, and study supplies.
The State government issues a diploma for the tailoring, pattern-making, computer skills, English, and soft skills training curriculum, which also guarantees employment with a monthly pay of Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000.
