Global Japanese clothing retailer Uniqlo has announced the launch of The Heart of LifeWear in India, a movement to distribute more than one million new garments to underprivileged communities worldwide. Around 10,000 light, breathable AIRism T-shirts will be donated by Uniqlo to disadvantaged children in New Delhi as part of this project, providing them with respite and comfort throughout the hot summer months.
Uniqlo has partnered with Khushii Foundation, an independent, non-profit childcare NGO committed to enhancing the quality of life for underserved communities, to guarantee that donated clothing reaches disadvantaged children in schools, community centres, and vulnerable areas nationwide. During April and the first week of May, Uniqlo will provide apparel donations to kids enrolled in Delhi NCR schools.
Uniqlo’s hallmark invention, AIRism, is a lightweight, sweat-wicking fabric that keeps you cool and comfortable even in the most intense weather. The 10,000 Kids AIRism T-shirts will be distributed starting in April 2025, guaranteeing prompt delivery prior to the busiest summer months.
Kenji Inoue, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Uniqlo India, said the brand is supporting children from the Khushii Foundation through its global initiative, The Heart of LifeWear, by providing clothing that helps them stay cool and comfortable during the intense summer heat.
