AEPC (Apparel Export Promotion Council) has got a new Secretary General (SG)! Ram Singh, the IPS officer of Punjab Cadre, (1994 batch) who is currently a Director in Ministry of Textiles (MoT) on deputation basis. The very learned man has been given the additional charge of SG, AEPC. He took the charge yesterday and in his new tenure he replaces Puneet Kumar, the former SG,who was appointed in December 2013. As of now, in MoT Ram Singh looks after the work of NTC, BIC and work relating to Commissioner of Payments, Parliament Matters, vigilance and technical textiles and MMF. In his previous roles, Ram Singh who is B.Tech, Civil Engineering and holds M.A. degree in Police Administration has served many senior positions.

The tenure of Puneet Kumar in AEPC was under the spanner as there was conflict between Puneet and AEPC, on the salary issue. The matter was moved to the Delhi High Court as well.
