In terms of value, the market is expected to grow at a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of +1.4 per cent between 2024 and 2035. By the end of 2035, the market is expected to be worth US $ 281.3 billion (at nominal wholesale prices).
The amount of non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing consumed worldwide increased by 63 per cent to 2.8 billion pieces in 2024. Global sales of non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing increased to US $ 242.1 billion in 2024, a 6.9 per cent increase over the previous year.
With 1.4 billion pieces, or almost 51 per cent of the total volume, the United States was the nation that consumed the most non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing.

China alone led the market in terms of value (US $ 88.3B). The ranking placed Indonesia in second place (US $ 12.7 billion). The United States came after it. China’s average yearly growth rate in terms of value was +1.6 per cent between 2013 and 2024. The average yearly rates in the other nations were as follows: the United States (+9.1 per cent annually) and Indonesia (+15.7 per cent annually).
In 2024, 1.6 billion items of non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing were produced worldwide, a 3 per cent increase over 2023 output levels. The output of nonwoven, felt, and coated textile clothing increased quickly in terms of value, reaching an expected US $ 263.8 billion in export prices in 2024.
With 467 million pieces, China continues to be the world’s largest producer of non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing, making up 30 per cent of the overall output. Furthermore, China produced seven times as much non-woven, felt, and coated textile garments as India, the second-largest producer, with 71 million units. Indonesia (68 million units) came in third place with a 4.3 per cent share in this ranking.
With a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of +58.3 per cent from 2013 to 2024, the United States was also the country with the fastest rate of growth in terms of imports of non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing. The United States is the world’s largest market for imported non-woven, felt, and coated textile clothing, with a value of US $ 2.3 billion.
