IT recruitment activity in India’s apparel industry drops by 58.2% in December 2022

According to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database, there was a registered drop of 58.2 per cent in IT hiring activity in India’s apparel industry in December 2022.

When compared with the previous month, the overall hiring has decreased by 46.12 per cent.

Out of the overall hiring activity in the apparel industry, 12.66 per cent of the job share was claimed by the IT industry in December.

There were top roles in IT recruitment which commanded a share of 97.94 per cent. These roles were:

1. Database and Network Administrators and Architects which accounted for a share of 50.52 per cent
2. Software and Web Developers, Programmers and Testers which came in at a 21.65 per cent share
3. Computer and Information Analysts, holding a share of 14.43 per cent
4. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.28 per cent

Also, the top five companies in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData accounted for a combined average growth of a 32.2 per cent share in the overall activity of IT recruitment in India’s apparel industry.
