The usual term of office bearers for BGMEA of two years has been split into two halves as the two contenders Sammilito Parishad and Forum decided to split the term of presidency rather than fighting over it. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Managing Director of Sterling Denims Ltd. from Sammilito Parishad will preside for one year and the one selected from Forum for the consequent year. The new committee witnessed an increase in the number of directors and vice-presidents from 27 to 35 and 4 to 7, respectively, out of which 26 directors will be from Dhaka and 9 from Chittagong.
