In the ‘New Normal’, technology is going to be DNA of any business, and therefore various trade bodies are coming forward to make their members aware about all the latest technologies.
Buying Agents Association (BAA), which is one of the most respected organisations in the Indian buying community, recently organised a webinar on ‘Technology in Business and Design’.
And it saw a good participation from many industry experts that included the likes of Manish Khowal, Head, Technical, Triburg; Neelam Chandwani, VP, Business Development, Clovirtual Fashion India; Rohit Kuthiala, COO, Poly 9 (Digital Transformation Consultant); Sanjoy Sehgal, Founder and CEO, Axind.com and Mohd. Asad Shamsi, Partner, Iqbal Paramount Metal Industries.
These experts shared their experience especially with regard to latest technologies and their offerings.
The event was well moderated by BAA team Anchal Kansal and Rohini Suri.
The speakers highlighted that the effective use of 3D had helped sampling become virtual, which is helping the industry become more sustainable.
The industry stakeholders also said that since most of the software or technology tools are costly, cooperative or cluster way of implementation should be adopted, so that small manufacturers and job workers can also avail the best of technology.
Manish shared his experience and informed that Triburg has been using 3D for over 2 years and despite initials apprehensions, now everyone is enjoying it. He said “We trained our team as well as our vendors and created a pool of talent. Recently we had to work on holiday collections and during this lockdown phase, 3D helped serve our purpose in record time and that too working from home. It not only helped save us money and time, but also gained the confidence of clients.”
He also added that irrespective of all challenges, like that of upgradation, virtual sampling is inevitable.
Experts also covered various aspects like Web TNA, Augmented Reality (AR), instant customisation, realistic material, etc.
