Manufacturer of specialty papers and films, Krishna Lamicoat introduced a new sublimation paper for the Indian apparel industry, along with the micro-perforated paper that was launched by the company at CISMA 2015. The company plans to bank upon the two major introductions in the Indian market, as it is one of the very few manufacturers of such papers in the world, and hence has created its niche.
The micro-perforated paper enables apparel companies to efficiently cut fabric as it helps in holding the fabric tightly because of densely located holes on the paper (25 holes per square inch). It solves the purpose of two papers in the cutting room, namely the plotter paper and the perforated paper, which is laid down under the lay.
The company has also recently doubled the capacity at its Bangalore unit, as it is preparing to bank upon the loss of market share of China. “With the devaluation of Yuan, and increasing manufacturing costs in China, it is surely going to lose a lot of business, which will be a great opportunity for us,” said Ashok Chajjer, Director, Krishna Lamicoat. The company is hopeful of gaining 20 per cent of the market share, and plans to tap the potential of Middle East, Southeast Asian and African markets, which are growing rapidly.
