On 16th April, in the presence of Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal, State Textiles Minister Darshana Jardosh, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadanvis, and others, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde virtually opened the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Park (PM MITRA Park) in Amravati.
At the ceremony, the Governments of Maharashtra and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the PM-MITRA Park. Additionally, agreements were made with investors for PM-MITRA Park.
The locations of the seven PM MITRA Parks for the textile sector were revealed by the Indian Government in March of this year.
The goal of the Parks is to develop top-notch industrial infrastructure that will draw significant investment, especially foreign direct investment (FDI), and promote innovation and job growth in the industry.
The PM MITRA Parks are a significant step towards fulfilling the Government’s goal of making India a worldwide hub for textile manufacturing and exports. They are inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F vision, which stands for Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.
It is anticipated that the parks will draw multinational companies to India for manufacturing, increasing the textile industry’s competitiveness by assisting it in realising economies of scale.
