Since last 4 months, virtual fairs are in trend; however, now another value has been added to such fairs.
Scheduled to take place on 1 and 2 September 2020, the ‘India Tex Trend Fair’ at TOC Gotanda Messe, Tokyo, Japan will be a Physical+Virtual trade show.
Organised by Japan India Industry Promotion Association (JIIPA), the fair will be a physical event as Indian apparel exporters who are participating in the show, can as always send their 150 samples for display.
The products will be displayed at the venue by the fair authority in a 6 square metre booth.
The booths will be open without walls in compliance with COVID-19 requirements. The buyers can visit each booth; however, meetings will be conducted virtually. There will be an interpreter at each booth to connect with the exporter in addition to having an IPAD/laptop setup at each booth.
There will be prefixed ‘buyers’ meetings’ on a virtual platform. The buyers will be verified to ensure the quality of business generated through this event.
The visiting buyers would include manufacturers, wholesalers, trading companies, importers, select and specialist shops, department stores, volume and online retailers, etc.
The participation charge for this event is Rs. 1,70,000 per company. Notably, the MAI grant for the fair is subject to the receipt of approval from the Ministry of Commerce.
India’s apparel export to Japan was US $ 224.6 million during 2019 (Jan-Dec, 2019) and there is enormous potential for increasing India’s textile and garment exports to Japan.
