
The 5th edition of TANTU seminar is set to roll out the red carpet on September 16, 2017, at India International Centre in New Delhi. The theme of the upcoming seminar is ‘Performance Textiles: Athleisure and Active Sportswear’.
Most of the international performance apparel brands have already entered the Indian market. The rising trend of athleisure is driving Indian brands as well to actively venture into this category.
TANTU, an industry body of experts and professionals from the textile sector, provides a platform for debates and discussions on key issues. This year’s TANTU seminar will discuss the challenges and India’s preparedness for the segment.
Panel discussions by national and international experts will be held during the seminar.
Dr Prabir Jana, President and Chairman, TANTU says, “The seminar is a rare congregation of experts and practitioners from athleisure and active sportswear domains. The deliberations of the experts will solve the problems of the brands, help them capitalise on opportunities in this emerging high growth segment and establish it as India’s strength.”

Bijesh Todi, Managing Director, T10 Sports opined that athleisure and active sportswear categories are predominated by the international brands. However, the better priced and value for money products can help the domestic brands to find space in the market. The opportunities in the segment will be deliberated at TANTU 2017.
A discussion on ‘Manufacturing Challenges’ and ‘Markets and Opportunities’ will also be held.
Ram Sareen, Founder, Tukatech will be the keynote speaker. He will throw light on the dynamic world market and the needs of the Indian manufacturers to meet the market’s expectations.
