Occasion wear designer Dolly J celebrated classic desi femininity with a fairytale-inspired collection titled ‘La Vie En Rose’ at Hyundai India Couture Week. The show paid homage to contemporary craftsmanship with an array of soft hues.
Dolly J’s latest traditional and fusion wear collection made its runway debut over the weekend, in partnership with fine jewellery brand Shailjas Natural Diamonds, Hyundai India announced on Facebook. The fashion show presented an ethereal take on classic occasion wear, featuring lehengas, shararas, and gowns gliding down a baby pink runway.
The collection showcased light, draped fabrics, with maxi skirts contrasted by structured bodice tops. Key textiles included chiffon, tulle, and silk organza, embellished with sparkling beaded details and tactile appliqués.
Models graced the runway with soft glam makeup and classic updos, accentuating the details of the ensembles. Bollywood celebrity Sonakshi Sinha was the showstopper, wearing a blush pink gown with a structured bodice and waterfall-style sleeves, the brand announced on Facebook.
Hyundai India Couture Week, held in association with Reliance Brands, runs from July 24 to 31 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. Organized by the Fashion Design Council of India, the fashion week also features designers such as Amit Aggarwal, Isha Jajodia, Suneet Varma, Siddartha Tytler, and Kunal Rawal, among others.
