Peplum is back as one of the defining shapes of 2026, and the new version is lighter and more varied than the office-wear staple of a decade ago. The shape carried into the autumn-winter season at Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI, held in New Delhi from 13 to 18 October 2026. Samant Chauhan’s Autumn/Winter 2026-27 collection, Where My Home Is?, closed with Sara Arjun in a powder-blue strapless gown with white floral embroidery, a peplum bodice and a mermaid hem. Pernia’s Pop Up Shop’s 2026 peplum dress edit adds Soup by Sougat Paul, with an embellished peplum jacket over a draped dress, and Urvashi Kaur, with a pleated peplum dress.
In outerwear, the peplum jacket is the piece to watch, and Ritu Kumar and Rann Gill are the Indian names you supplied.
