As the Bangladesh market matures, people are looking at solutions to increase their production efficiency and quality. In this scenario, Duerkopp Adler AG, pioneers in manufacturing automated sewing machines and is the answer for many shirt, trouser and jacket manufacturers.
“We are not selling simple lockstitch sewing machines in the country, and in order to sell automated workstations, the need for robust service, support and backup becomes of utmost importance. Together with our agent we are working in the same direction,” says Bernd Bräuer, Head of the Duerkopp Adler’s Global Sales Division. Present in Bangladesh since 1995, the company is operating through their agent – DAD International headed by Md. Didarul Hasan. “Due to the rising labour problem in China, buyers are looking for alternative sourcing bases with Bangladesh being the biggest gainer of all. The focus of the country is now shifting from knit to woven garments,” added Bernd Bräuer.
Among the products offered by Duerkopp Adler, the pocket welting machine, the buttonhole machine and the sleeve setting machine are the most popular in the country. The sleeve setting machine 650-16 received the maximum response at the fair. Considering that the sleeve setting operation is one of the most difficult sewing operations in a garment and requires operator’s expertise to obtain quality sewing.
