A leader in needles used in all type of sewing, tufting, felting, weaving and knitting applications, Groz-Beckert launched its newly developed ‘Productivity Benchmark’ efficiency calculator for circular knitting machines. The use of high-quality products can increase productivity and utilize resources effectively at the same time, the tool was designed to compare high-quality Groz-Beckert knitting machine needles with other products.
The tool takes into account factors such as machine speed, efficiency, power consumption, needle breakage rate and downtime, and showed that increasing a machine’s speed by just one revolution, from 30 to 31 RPM over the course of one year, means a productivity increase of 7,000 kilograms. According to the company, this may result in a reduction in running costs per kilogram of goods produced, while enabling increased machine speeds, improved efficiency, reduced needle breakage rates, longer service life and lower power consumption.

Among the many benefits of using its needles, the company listed some as having absolutely smooth surface for trouble-free yarn gliding, high dimensional accuracy for an absolutely uniform loop structure, precise latch guidance for minimal wear and litespeed design for reduced power and oil consumption.
The above features bring in the expected changes in the production environment which include minimal heat generation, reduced oil misting, which help in optimising the working conditions for knitting-machine operators and reduce machine wear and tear.
