The IT-based production management tool “ISS” (Intelligent Sewing System) enables the real-time review of production data through network-connected sewing machines in the sewing production line, thereby facilitating daily progress management and achieving early detection of bottlenecks which may hinder production. With this software measurement of the operating ratio and sewing speed of each sewing machine, besides processing time of each sewing process, can be measured to facilitate checking of the production line balance.
Another technology that could be a crowd puller is the AE-200A – edge control seamer. This is Juki’s unique technology and comes in two different types: one for joining and the other for pin-tucking to enable sewing – requiring no skill, maintaining consistent quality and enhancing production.
The sensor placed at the top of the manipulator device monitors the material-end position and the manipulator device controls the materials to adjust the seam allowance (material edge width) to a predetermined value.
The joining type model has a pair of upper and lower manipulator devices to separately control the upper and lower materials, thereby speedily joining two plies of materials which are different in shape with a consistent seam allowance.
The differential feed amount and manipulator pressure are digitally controlled. Programmed sewing in 10 different sections is enabled. Difficult joining of materials which generally required skill can now be performed by numerically inputting upper/lower manipulator pressure values.
During long sewing section, re-arrangement of the materials is not required and the sewing machine automatically and continuously sews the materials without stopping. As a result, the sewing time is reduced and productivity is increased. Besides, in comparison with the plastic pattern sewing system and the rail-feed system adopted by competitive models, the AE-200A does not require any changing of plastic patterns or rails at the time of sewing pattern changing, thereby reducing the set-up time and running cost.
The “AC compact-sized servomotor with timing belt drive” system has been adopted. As a result, power consumption is reduced by approximately 5% as compared with JUKI’s conventional model.
