Popular Japanese flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki, which developed the world’s first flatbed knitting machine to incorporate compound needles, has launched a new version of its coarse gauge compact machine called the NSES122CS. The machine replaces the company’s earlier version SES122CS model with a host of new features put into it. The machine is specifically developed for coarse gauge knitting including the double racking mechanism.
The CS in NSES122CS stands for ‘Compound-Sinker’ which symbolizes the coming together of two unique Shima Seiki technologies in coarse gauge sweater knitting. The machine is also fitted with a R2CARRIAGE which requires less space, allowing more area for the carriage to run at full speed, resulting in significant increase in productivity depending on the gauge and type of fabric being knitted.
Other features of the machine include a patented spring-type moveable full sinker system to provide gentle hold down movement which prevents the fabric from being subject to undue force, reducing the racking movement by half. The machine has 50% more memory capacity as compared with the previous NewSES line. A backup power supply is also standard, allowing work to resume after power failures. The eye-level display offers improved ergonomics, while menu-interactive function buttons offer easy input and editing. The menu also features multi-lingual capability, available in 12 languages.
