Titan, James Heal’s latest model of Universal Strength Tester can now accommodate tests up to 5000 Newton. The latest version is further equipped with five new tools and grips to test elastane, rivets, studs, press studs, velcro and leather products. The tests which can be performed on Titan include seam slippage and seam strength, stretch and recovery, security of attachments, compression testing including ball burst, puncture and crush resistance, yarn strength, tear strength, tensile strength and elongation, the Baumann tear strength, hank (lea) strength and tests for buttons and zippers. Titan also includes an OctoGrip, which has eight claws to hold very small items securely for testing, which would otherwise be extremely difficult to hold with the T12 jaws.
The device comes with “TestWise”, easy to use and intuitive test analysis software for increased efficiency and accuracy of the testing process. The software transfers the test parameters to automatically set-up the required parameters such as the gauge length, the number of specimens to test, the pre-tension requirement and the speed that the jaws are required to move apart during test.
