Paramount, keeping up to its reputation of being the pioneer and leader in the field of textile testing instrument technology, recently introduced some innovative new additions in the instruments they manufacture. “Concentrating more on style and convenience of the user, we have developed a range of optical tools with a unique design appeal which are extremely user-friendly, while remaining affordable for textile testing,” said Manjit Singh Saini, CEO & Executive Director, Paramount.
Optical tools are one of the most commonly used tools in the textile and apparel industry, which are required at all stages of production and testing. With design spreading into every possible product category of the world, the company has launched a reading dome magnifier which looks like a paperweight and can be used to check any type of defects in embroidery, weaving and dyeing of fabrics. The tool is handy as it magnifies the surface of the product as it shifts along the base.
Another unique innovation is the handy magnifier with LED light. LEDs emit light in very small band of wavelengths, emitting strongly coloured light which is focused in a particular area for clarity. With sustainability being the demand and need of the hour installations of LED lighting for commercial and public uses are becoming more and more common, making it the next big thing. Keeping this new growing technology in mind this magnifier is made in a creative shape with a LED light attached to the handle.
Incorporating the same feature of LED light the company has also introduced an automatic open pick glass which is used as an accurate way of checking construction (reed/pick) in any kind of fabric. The range also includes a microscope with LED white light used to closely access dyeing, printing, weaving defects or constructional differences in any type of fabrics. A strong feature of this microscope is the ‘zoom’, through which one can view any specific area of the fabric much more closely.

With focus on all sections of the industry, Paramount has testing solutions for all needs and budgets. “It is important that even the unorganized small scale garment manufacturer uses tools to set quality and that is why we have recently introduced the cost-effective 7 pearl series which has been a hit with smaller players,” avers Saini. The company is also proud to be an Indian company supplying instruments at par with international brands in testing equipment.
Since its inception in 1964, Paramount has flourished into a large group, comprising of different companies, all engaged in a wide spectrum of activities related to the textile and garment industry. Today the group is recognized as the pioneer and leader in the manufacture of textile testing and inspection equipment in India. It is also the first and only company in Asia in the segment to be awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certification by LRQA, UK. Paramount manufactures a variety of products such as fabric and yarn testing instruments, lab dyeing machines, fabric inspection machines, swatch cutting machines, needle detection machines, optical tools and quality assured consumables.
The company also holds the distinction of being the largest exporter of textile testing instruments from India.
