To expand its high-street fashion concept throughout India, Reliance Retail’s Fashion World has joined hands with Francorp, a franchise consultancy organisation. Through franchising, the partnership seeks to propel Fashion World’s national expansion while providing fresh prospects for small and mid-sized business owners.
Franchise India Group chairman Gaurav Marya described the partnership with Reliance Fashion World as more than just a collaboration, calling it a movement aimed at empowering local retailers, promoting inclusive entrepreneurship, and advancing the reach of organised fashion retail.
Reliance Retail created Fashion World with the goal of entering India’s unorganised fashion retail market. With the help of the “Invest. Own. Operate. Grow.” strategy, franchisees can operate stores that showcase a carefully chosen selection of Reliance’s best-selling clothing, accessory, and footwear brands. Reliance claims that franchise partners, supported by Ajio Business, have access to more than three lakh styles through a robust business-to-business supply network.
Over the next five years, the company hopes to reach more than 200 million people in 500 cities. Partners will be able to choose models according to local demand and investment capacity thanks to its two formats: “Speciality Stores” (1,000 square feet) and “Family Stores” (over 3,000 square feet). With the help of Reliance’s retail network and Francorp’s franchise experience, clothes World hopes to expand the market for organised, reasonably priced clothes while fostering the successful expansion of its franchisees.
