During its recently finished flagship sale event, ‘Big Bold Sale’ (BBS), Ajio, the e-commerce fashion platform, saw great growth in Tier-2, and Tier-3 cities, with these cities accounting for half of its entire orders.
The sale event’s overall order volume increased by 40 per cent from the previous summer’s sale, making it Ajio’s largest sale event ever. While Mysuru and Karnal led among non-metros in terms of shopping during the BBS event, Bengaluru led among metros in terms of shopping.
Some of the top selling labels, which contributed to a 150 per cent increase in the western wear category over the previous summer edition, included The Indian Garage Co., Buda Jeans Co., The Bear House, GAP, M&S, Fyre Rose, and Vero Moda.
Commenting on the sale, Vineeth Nair, CEO of Ajio in a statement said, “We are overwhelmed with the love customers have shown for the Big Bold Sale. It is encouraging to see the growing uptick from the non-metros during the shopping season, with almost half of the total orders coming from smaller towns and cities of the country.”
