Big Bazaar, the multi-brand retailer, announces to open 16 more stores in India in the coming three financial quarters. The step will bring the total store number to around 300.
The retailer already has presence in around 100 Indian cities. It is now increasing its focus on expanding into Tier-2 cities that are believed to have been less effective because of the pandemic.
Moreover, with the establishment of these many stores, it would be reaching almost across all the states.
Big Bazaar’s CEO Sadashiv Nayak said that the business saw a good sign of recovery due to festive season in various product categories, including clothing.
Currently, the business operates about 284 stores and has recently opened a store in Lucknow.
