The Government-backed e-commerce network, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), has approved its first buyer-side logistics app, which aims to address a major complaint of using the network: seamless delivery. This development could help the network greatly.
Those with knowledge of the development said that the MP2 Innovations platform will enable ONDC participants to retrieve the best available delivery fleet via a single API rather than partnering with different logistics firms.
Across segments, delivery has been the biggest challenge on ONDC to match ecommerce experience, according to network participants.
The owner of MP2 Innovations, Mahesh Herle, stated that the company received final approval on Wednesday to operate as an ONDC technology service provider (TSP), meaning it will soon be able to begin offering its services on the network. It has already worked with logistics organisations like Loadshare and Zypp while more hyperlocal delivery partners are being added as well. He continued, “It should go live in the next week or so.”
