E-commerce major Flipkart on Monday announced the appointment of Somnath Das as Vice President, Supply Chain, and Digbijay Mishra as Vice President, Corporate Communications, with immediate effect.
In a statement, the company said Das, who brings more than two decades of experience, will lead supply chain operations for its large business segment, which includes appliances and furniture. His mandate will focus on enhancing network efficiency and driving technology-enabled supply chain capabilities.
Prior to joining Flipkart, Das served as Senior Vice President at Jubilant FoodWorks, where he oversaw manufacturing and supply chain operations. He has also held leadership positions at Reliance Retail’s grocery division, Nivea India, Marico Ltd and PepsiCo India.
Mishra, who previously served as Deputy Bureau Chief (Startups) at The Economic Times, will head Corporate Communications for the Flipkart Group. His responsibilities will include overseeing integrated communications strategy, stakeholder engagement and corporate communications initiatives.
According to industry sources, Mishra will report to Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart Group, while Das will report to Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience and ReCommerce.
The Walmart-backed company has been strengthening its senior leadership team as it advances preparations for a proposed initial public offering.
As part of its recent leadership expansion, the company in February appointed Vipin Kapooria as Vice President, Business Finance, and Yogita Shanbhag as Vice President, Human Resources. In January 2026, it named Jane Duke as Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for the group, Jason Chappel as Vice President and Group Controller, and Amer Hussain as Vice President, Supply Chain, for its grocery and quick commerce businesses.
