American fast-fashion brand Forever 21 has further expanded its reach in India’s booming Tier II and III markets with its first-ever store in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, touted to be the most populous state in the country.
With a wide range of trendy clothing and accessories, the store measures over 8,500 sq ft. of shopping space. The shop is located in the Saharaganj Mall in Hazratganj, the burgeoning city centre. The inauguration was demarcated with a huge launch event where the brand’s India Head and celebrities like Bipasha Basu were in attendance.
The opening will also mark the Los Angeles-based brand’s first flagship in Uttar Pradesh itself.
The latest collection on display consists of fashion-forward separates like stripe dresses, check blazers, printed blouses and an expansive assortment of denim pieces for women. For the boys, the store stocks a collection of wardrobe basics as well as trendier styles like slogan t-shirts and patterned pants, etc.

Talking about the label’s new foray, Rahul Jhamb, Brand Head, Forever 21 said, “At Forever 21, we aim to make fast-fashion accessible to millennials at affordable price points and we are proud to be at the forefront of the fashion revolution that is underway in this Nawabi city. Over the last few years, the brand has gained immense popularity amongst the fashion conscious millennials who are always on a lookout for fresh and unique styles.”
Forever 21 has been in the Indian market for over 18 years now and already operates some 23 stories in all the big cities. The brand launched its e-commerce site in 2014, getting a head start in the market way before the entry of Zara and H&M.
After the procurement in July 2016, Forever 21’s Indian retail venture is now a part of the Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail umbrella, making the brand a major player in India’s affordable fast fashion market.
